Have you always wanted to write stories, but you’re just not sure where to start?

Fiction Writing

Most popular by far is our fiction writing course! This is open to students from all over the world, and can be taught virtually via weekly, twice weekly, or fortnightly workshops. You can get in touch with us to talk more about how often or little you’d like to see one of our tutors. Together you’ll come up with an incredible novel idea, and you’ll get to work with authors who know what it’s like to struggle through the pain of completing a manuscript…! You’ll look at key elements of storytelling, including characterisation, setting, and plot, and you’ll develop your story to the highest standard possible. You’ll be able to talk to your tutor about the possibility of publication, and they’ll be able to honestly guide you through the basics of the industry; for example, how to edit your manuscript, how to write for different genres and age ranges, and how to approach literary agents.

Poetry and Short Stories

Our courses are bespoke, so we tailor them to exactly what you want to write. If you’d like to write poetry, for example, we’ll set you up with a tutor that has loads of experience in that area. You’ll cover all of the elements of writing poetry and / or short stories. Your tutor will also help you with applications to competitions and awards to help you begin your publishing track record.

Group Workshops

Another student favourite is our group workshops. This is for students who like to write creatively but still need peer feedback and to build up their confidence in their own writing. Our virtual group workshops are never more than 5 students in each group, with a tutor leading each session. Workshops are a friendly, relaxed environment, where students can share their work openly without fear of unconstructive criticism.

We match students by three things; age range, time zone, and writing ability. Please contact us to be put on the waiting list with absolutely no financial obligation, and we’ll let you know when a space that’s perfect for you becomes available. You might be asked to send an example of your work so that we can match you with students that are of a similar level of ability.
