We are a small team of talented professionals with a wide range of skills and experience. We love all things bookish and writerly, and can’t wait to work with you. Every member of staff holds at least a Master’s level qualification and has experience in the publishing industry. We aim to prepare students for a career in writing, and are here every step of the way to help them work towards publication.

Beth Tomlin
Founder and Director
Beth Tomlin has been teaching Creative Writing to young people for over five years. She has a first class Ba Hons in Creative Writing and a Distinction level Masters degree in Writing for Young People. She is a children’s and YA author represented by the Bath Literary Agency.

Callen James Martin
Creative Writing Tutor
Callen has a BA Hons in Creative Writing and an MA in Writing for Young People. As well as being a tutor, he is a writer for young adults and is currently working on his contemporary YA novel. Callen has also been working in the publishing industry for several years as Submissions Reader and Coordinator for Chicken House Books, Manuscript Assessor for Faber Academy, and is now working as Submissions Coordinator at the Good Literary Agency.

Alice Billington
Poetry and Short Stories Tutor
Alice is completing her PhD (DPhil) at Oxford University in History, and also holds a Ba Hons and Distinction Level MA. Alice is an avid reader, poet, and expert in academic writing. She specialises in poetry, feminist writings and historical fiction.

Rosie Marinelli
Creative Writing Tutor
Rosie is a writer of middle-grade adventure stories. She has a BA in European Literature and Art History from the University of East Anglia, and an MA in Writing for Young People. She also has a PGCE from Leeds University specialising in English, and has over twenty years of teaching experience. Rosie grew up in New Zealand, has lived in India and Hong Kong, and now lives with her husband and two daughters in Bath, England. Rosie specialises in writing for children and teenagers.
